AFWA Milwaukee Chapter Scholarships

The mission of AFWA is to enable women in all accounting and finance fields to achieve their full potential and to contribute to their profession.

To help realize our mission, the AFWA Milwaukee Chapter grants up to two scholarships each year to a student majoring in Accounting or Finance who is a Wisconsin resident attending a school with a Wisconsin campus, including on-line attendance at such school. We will begin to accept applications on January 1, 2019.

One scholarship for $750 will be awarded to a student in a two-year program who will be entering, or is already in, their second year in the next fall semester. This is payable in one installment at the beginning of the fall semester. The application deadline for this two-year scholarship is March 15, 2019.  The successful candidate will be notified no later than April 15, 2019.

Another scholarship for $2,000 will be awarded to a student in a four-year program who will be entering, or is already in, their undergraduate senior year in the fall 2019 semester. In other words, current Juniors (or current Seniors with at least 2 semesters of credits remaining for their senior year) should make application for next year.  This scholarship is payable in two installments: Fall 2019 and Spring 2020. The application deadline for this four-year scholarship is March 15, 2019. The successful candidate will be notified no later than April 15, 2019.

Applicants for both scholarships are judged on grades, extracurricular activities, life experience, financial need, and an essay. Upon selection, payment is contingent upon the recipient providing proof of enrollment for the upcoming semester, academic level at the time from the previous semester and maintaining personal conduct at the school they attend. Only the award recipient need supply this corroborating documentation. An application is all that is needed at this time.

The scholarship recipients will be invited to attend one of our monthly meetings that are held each month at the Radisson Hotel Milwaukee West as our guest. No notice will be sent to the remaining applicants.

Only fully completed and signed applications will be considered.

The Scholarship Application can be downloaded and submitted to the Scholarship Chair as listed below.
